World Autism Awareness Day
On April 2nd it is World Autism Awareness Day. This means that every year around the world autism organizers celebrate the day with walks, fundraising and awareness-raising events. The colour that represents this cause is BLUE. Many of you might see that over 16,000 buildings and famous landmarks will go blue to help shine a light on our autism community.
Our 8th básico students also want to shine a blue light upon our St. John´s community and decided they will also wear a blue item of clothing on March 31st showing that they also care. It will be marvelous to see how this simple action can cause such a commotion among our students as they will see posters about autism and other disabilities in the halls, blue balloons around the school and teachers and students wearing blue clothes.
We would like to congratulate our students for showing their support and for following such an important cause.
Someone with Autism taught me LOVE needs no words!
“Do not fear people with Autism, embrace them, Do not spite people with Autism unite them, Do not deny people with Autism accept them for then their abilities will shine”
