World Autism Awareness Day
Last Thursday 2nd was World Autism Awareness Day. Every year around the world autism organizers celebrate the day with walks, fundraising and awareness-raising events. The colour that represents this cause is BLUE. Many of you might have seen that over 16,000 buildings and famous landmarks went blue to help shine a light on our autism community.
Our 8th básico students also wanted to shine a blue light upon our St. John´s community and decided to wear a blue item of clothing showing that they also care. It was marvelous to see how this simple action caused a commotion among our other students as they saw posters about autism in the halls, blue balloons around the school and teachers and students wearing blue clothes.
We would like to congratulate our students for showing their support and for following such an important cause.
Someone with Autism taught me LOVE needs no words!
“Do not fear people with Autism, embrace them, Do not spite people with Autism unite them, Do not deny people with Autism accept them for then their abilities will shine”
